The Game Fishing
Vanuatu is a world
renowned Blue Marlin Fishery with a great range of other game fish
also available.
The fishing is great by most standards all year with Marlin caught
every month of the year.
June- November (22-28 Degrees)
Port Vila is situated 17 Degrees South of the Equator and receives
the South East trade winds in the “winter”. Average sea conditions
this time of year would include 15-20 knot winds with moderate seas.
This time of year is renowned for Blue Marlin, (Black and Striped
Marlin with limited numbers being caught), Mahi Mahi, Yellow Fin
Tuna and Wahoo. ( October & November often see very good runs of
Blue Marlin leading up to the full moon)
December-February (25-33 Degrees)
Known for Marlin and Yellow Fin although this time of year is
generally hot and humid sometimes the fishing is outstanding in
often very calm conditions. This time of year is off peak (tourist
wise) and some great deals can be had on the fishing and on
accommodation.
March- May (22-30 Degrees)
The start of our Season with all species being caught. Generally
good fishing is available with good weather of the at this time with
the Erromango Seamounts often being accessible with outstanding
wahoo and marlin fishing.

You might note that we don’t promise great fishing for sail fish or
short billed spearfish. We catch quite a few every year but not with
sufficient reliability to include them in our seasonal availability
information.
